Yard repair

We’ve spent the past few weekends cleaning up the side of our house.  When we moved in, the entire north side of the yard was covered in knee-high weeds.  We’ve successfully rid ourselves of most of those weeds and are now raking up all the old bark.  I would really love to put grass in over here, but that would mean installing another sprinkler zone in this area (a project that I don’t think we’ll be attempting this year.)

We also need to take this old dog fence down.

In the backyard, we have these two big trees. I love having big trees, but the bad thing is that their roots are giant and are coming up out of the ground. Mowing the grass around them is impossible. So we’re killing all the grass in that area and will be putting bark in.
