Another reason to love Costco

Progress in the nursery has slowed dramatically in the past few weeks because of budget cuts.  Trying to cut monthly spending and tighten our belts really puts a damper on the extravagant spending lifestyle that I want!  Haha!  Since I’ll be leaving MCL, we’ve had to work out a new monthly budget and so far, so good.  But before we brought this new budget into being, I was able to snatch up a couple of new items for the little guy’s room!  And here they are:

This soft, plush, shag carpet from Costco (I can’t tell you how much Michael and I love shopping there – for almost everything).  It is downright wonderful.

I had drooled over this carpet for months and months before we actually got it.  I had been resisting the temptation to buy it because I was trying to be good and save money (yes, Michael was very proud of me).

Then, at long last, it went on SALE!  There were only 2 brown ones left and Michael was sweet enough to buy one for me as an early birthday present.  Awww.

In my opinion, shag carpets don’t get any better than this.  It’s so soft that I want to sleep on it!  And it’s really fun watching Bowen play on it with all of his toys.

Ok, my second find was this cute red chair from Pier 1 Imports.

I only paid $42 for this As-Is adorable chair!  I do really want to have a rocking chair in the nursery, but this will work for now.  Eventually I may move it into our piano room.

And here’s the damage.  It looks worse in the photo than it does in person.

It’s really not that noticable, especially at the angle that the chair is in.  But I’m hoping to try and patch it up somehow.

In other news, we’ve got a CRAWLER!  Yep, Bowen is now into everything.  He found that he loves our bookshelf and, as I write, he is trying to pull the books off the shelf so that he can chew them up.  I’d better go rescue those books!
